Frequently Asked Questions
1. How do I set up my case for Depository Services?
For the Clerk of the Court to act as the depository, we must have a copy of the Final Judgment, the Marital Settlement Agreement, if there is one, and the Income Deduction Order. You can mail them or deliver them in person to: 540 S. E. Third Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301.
2. How do I apply for automated phone payment services?
In order to use the system, you must have an account with the Clerk of Court Depository.
If you are a non-custodial parent and wish to make payments using the automated system, you must submit an authorization form to this office. You may print the application (see Depository Forms above) and mail it to the address on the form. Once your application is approved you may begin using the system.
3. I know a check was sent out to me, but I still have not received it. What should I do?
In order for the Depository to declare that a check may be lost, a minimum of ten (10) working days must have elapsed. Please contact 954-357-8800 to obtain the necessary paperwork. Replacement checks may take up to two weeks.
4. Why does child support have to come out of my paycheck when I'm paying regularly?
Florida State Statute, Chapter 61.1301 require that Income Deduction Orders be issued on every case. It used to be that the Judge had discretion when ordering it. However, the legislature has made it mandatory in all cases.
