Effective April 1, 2013 electronic filing (eFiling) of documents by attorneys is mandatory in the civil, probate, small claims and family law divisions, pursuant to SC 11-399 and Florida Rules of Judicial Administration 2.525. The Clerk's office will no longer accept paper filings from attorneys in these divisions as of April 1st. Circuit Civil Electronic Filing - 01/30/2012
Effective January 30, 2012, Document Filing (E-Filing) service for Circuit Civil Existing Complex Cases in Divisions 1, 7, 19, 26, 27 and all Existing Cases for Division 9 is available on the Statewide Electronic Filing Portal. Registration information is available at the Florida Courts eFiling Portal.
Redaction Notice - 01/01/2012
Effective January 1, 2012, Clerks are prohibited from releasing any court records, official records and other documents until they have been reviewed and redacted for confidential information such as Social Security or bank account numbers. See Florida Statute, 119.0714 Section (2)(e)(1) and Rule 2.420. Case File/Document Request Forms are available Online and at the customer service counters.
Juvenile Division Move - 09/26/2011
Effective Monday, September 26, 2011, the Juvenile Division moved to Room 349. Hours of operation are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Traffic and Misdemeanor Case Management System Changes - 09/09/2011
Effective September 9, 2011, the new Traffic and Misdemeanor Case Management System was implemented and affects the way case searches are performed on the website. The following new Traffic and Misdemeanor case types were introduced: CO: County Ordinance; CT: Contempt of Court; NI: Boating, Hunting, Fishing, Toll violations, Smoking and Tri-rail violations.
Support Depository Fees - 08/15/2011
Effective August 15, 2011, pursuant to Florida Statute 28.24, the Clerk of Court, Support Depository will begin charging for copies of payment records and certification of payment records. The fees associated with copies and certification of Depository records will be $1.00 per page for copies and $2.00 for each certification.
Probate Electronic Filing - 05/02/2011
Effective May 2, 2011, The Broward Clerk of Courts transitioned Probate Electronic Filing (E-Filing) services to the new Statewide Electronic Filing Portal. Registration information is available at the Florida Courts eFiling Portal.
Marriage Certificate Copies - 01/27/2011
EFFECTIVE January 27, 2011, marriage certificate copies can be obtained from the Marriage Division at 201 SE 6th Street, Room 270, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301. For years prior to 1972, if needed for proof of age, you must also request a copy of the marriage application from the Archives Division.
Felony Case Management System Changes - 02/22/2011
Effective Tuesday, February 22, 2011, the new Felony Case Management System will be implemented and will affect the way case searches are performed on the website.

Support Depository Automated Payment Line - 12/01/2010
EFFECTIVE December 1, 2010, the new phone number for the Support Depository Automated Payment Line has changed to 954-357-7981.
Central Archives Division Move - 06/21/2010

The first online auction will take place on March 30, 2010. American Express No Longer Accepted - 05/01/2009

The Public Access Marriage License Application is now available for use. You may use this application to complete an Online Pre-Application, get information on how to apply for a marriage license, search for the status of your marriage license, locate a premarital course provider and obtain answers to commonly asked questions.
Child Support Depository - 10/1/2008
Effective October 1, 2008 the Child Support Depository was assumed by the Broward Clerk of the Court. Please note that all child support or alimony payments to the Support Depository must be payable to the Clerk of the Court effective October 1, 2008. Payments may continue to be mailed to PO Box 14248, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33302 or paid in person at 540 SE 3rd Avenue, Fort Lauderdale,FL 33301.

This website is not intended for and should not be used to perform Background checks. Official statewide background checks are available from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Local background checks are available from the Broward Sheriff's Office for BSO's jurisdictions located within Broward County and other local background checks are available from the appropriate municipality or county.

Electronic Records - 8/26/2008
Pursuant to the revisions contained in Supreme Court Administrative Order AOSC07-49, electronic access to Broward County court records will be modified. This revised administrative order supersedes the Interim Policy on Electronic Release of Court Records contained in AOSC06-21. As a result, Felony, Misdemeanor and Traffic Criminal electronic download files and reports have been modified and no longer contain the defendant's address, driver's license number or vehicle tag number.
