What is a Premium Access User?

A Premium Access User is a subscriber who creates an Individual or Company account. A one-time search can be purchased thru the Individual or Company Account Registration button. The only difference between the Individual and Company Account Registrations, is that the Company Account Registration provides the Account Administrator with the ability to add additional users @ $5.00 each.

Premium Access Users are charged a fee corresponding to the level of service. See table shown below:

Additional users can only be added to a Company Account.
There is a $5.00 fee for each additional user added.

Please note, with the exception of the one-time and annual account packages, all package periods are good for a 30 day period. If the number of searches is exceeded the account will require renewal. If the timeframe expires, remaining search units will be lost. However, account renewal prior to the end of the timeframe will carry over the remaining balance of units, which will be added to the renewal units.

What is a Premium Access Unit?

A Premium Access Unit can be purchased to view Case Detail information. Each time a Premium Access User clicks on the “Case Detail” button a unit is deducted from their premium access account.

How do I open a One-Time User Account?

If you wish to register as a One-Time Premium Access User, please have a Visa or MasterCard ready. A one-time search can be purchased thru the Individual or Company Account Registration button.

How do I open an Individual Premium Access User account?

An Individual Premium Access Account does not have the ability to add additional users. If you require the flexibility of adding additional users to track account history, use the Company Account Registration button to setup your account.

If you wish to register as an Individual Premium Access User, please have a Visa or MasterCard ready.

Premium users are charged fees depending on choice of Premium Access Package Units. A unit is subtracted from the account each time a Premium Access User clicks on the “Case Detail” button.

Required fields are marked with an asterisk “*”. Tabbing from field to field is suggested.

  1. Go to the Clerk of Courts home page www.browardclerk.org and click on the “Online Services” button.
  2. Please read the “Disclaimer Agreement” carefully. If you wish to continue, click on “Accept”.
  3. To register as a Premium Access User, click on the “Access Registration & Maintenance” button on the Online Services screen.
  4. On the Premium Access Account Registration screen, click on the “Individual Account Registration” button.
  5. Enter first and last name<
  6. Enter the credit card billing address (where the credit card billing statement is mailed to).
  7. Enter payment information (credit card number, type, and expiration date).
  8. Specify a user name and confirm the Password twice for confirmation. The user name and password will be used each time you access the system. The User Name must be between 6 and 15 characters long and include NO SPACES. The Password must be between 7 and 15 characters long and include NO SPACES. The password must contain at least 1 number and 1 alphabetic character. The password is case sensitive and should be something you will remember.
  9. Enter a reminder question to jog your memory in the event you forget your password (i.e., Mother’s Maiden Name). In the password field you can enter the password or a helpful hint for the password.
  10. Specify the usage type from the drop-down menu. Choices range from 1 detailed case unit for a 2-day period to 600 detailed case units for a year/12-month. Units are used each time a user clicks on the “Case Detail” button.
  11. If you would like to occasionally use a different address or method of payment, you can provide the optional information in the appropriate fields.
  12. If you wish to continue, scroll down and click on “Register”, if not please click on “Cancel” or “Clear”.
  13. If you selected “Register”, the “Basket” page will appear and display the type of service purchased and the amount due. If you wish to continue, click on “Purchase”.
  14. If a credit card error appears, follow the instructions on the message to correct the errors. If the error persists, please contact your credit card provider.
  15. The Purchase page opens and the total amount to be charged to the credit card is presented for confirmation. If you wish to continue, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on “Confirm Purchase”, if not please click on “Cancel” or “Clear”.
  16. The Premium Access Individual account is now active.
  17. Please record the account number and subsequent purchase confirmation numbers presented in the event that questions arise about the account history.

How do I open a Company Premium Access User account?

  17. The Company Premium Account Registration is now active.

  19. To add more users to the Company Account go to the Online Services Page and click on “Access Registration & Maintenance”. Click on the “Account Maintenance” button and add users.

     There is a $5.00 fee for each additional user name added to the company account.

What types of updates or maintenance may I perform?

The Account Administrator may update account information. Users may be added, updated or deleted. All user information, including User Ids and Passwords, may be changed. From the On-Line Services page, select the "Premium Access Registration and Maintenance" button in order to update your premium account.

How do I renew my Account?

Account renewals will increase the number of units on your account as well as extend the time before you account will expire. If there is a balance of units left on your account before the expiration date of the account then your renewal units will be added to the balance. If your account has already expired you will not retain any units and only keep the units that you renewed for.

  3. To renew you account, click on the “Access Registration & Maintenance” button on the Online Services screen.
  4. Enter your User Name and Password and Click on the “Account Renewal” button. If you are already logged in just click on the “Account Renewal” button.
  5. Choose a Usage Type and Click Renew.
  6. Your Usage Type chosen will appear in your basket. If it is correct click on Purchase.
  7. The Purchase page opens and the total amount to be charged to the credit card is presented for confirmation.
  8. If you wish to continue, click on “Purchase” to confirm.
  9. Your renewal is now complete.

How do I add a new user to my premium account?

New users may be added to premium company accounts. Only the Account Administrator may add new users to the premium account. From the On-Line Services page, select the "Premium Access Registration and Maintenance" button. Enter the User ID and Password of the Account Administrator. Then select the "Account Maintenance" button. Select the "Add User" button. Enter information about the new user and select the "Add" button at the bottom of the screen. The new user will appear in the list of users.

How do I update an existing user on my premium account?

Only the Account Administrator may update users on premium company account. From the On-Line Services page, select the "Premium Access Registration and Maintenance" button. Enter the User ID and Password of the Account Administrator. Then select the "Account Maintenance" button. Select the radio button next to the appropriate User Name and then select "Update User" button. After changing the user's information, select the "Update" button at the bottom of the screen.

How do I get a User ID and Password?

In order to get a User ID and Password, you must register for Premium Services. From the On-Line Services page, select the "Premium Access Registration and Maintenance" button. In the middle of the screen there is a question "Would you like to register for Premium Services?" The three types of premium accounts are shown here. Select the button next to the type of premium account that you wish to register for. Then enter information about yourself. You will be required to provide a User ID and Password, and credit card information. This credit card will be charged a fee for premium services.

What if I have forgotten my Password?

From the On-Line Services page, select the "Registered User Login" button. In the middle of the screen, there is a section, which provides the ability to retrieve a forgotten password. Enter your User Name and select the "Retrieve Password" button. You must enter the answer to the question you provided when you registered for your premium account. Then select the "Retrieve Password" button. Your password will be retrieved.

What do I do if I receive a message indicating that someone else is using my account or I feel that my User Id or account has been compromised?

If you receive this message while using the system, this means that another user has logged in with the same username and password in your account. To secure your personal account information if this occurs, your session is automatically terminated and you are required to re-login and change your password. For information on changing your password go to the change password screen and see the FAQ related to changing passwords.

What if I don't change my password after retrieving it?

You can continue to use your retrieved password. Just note that from a security standpoint, it is good practice to periodically change the password used to access your account.

What is the Password Policy?

The Clerk’s office, recognizing the standards recommended by the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council, is implementing improvements to protect the security of our customer's stored information. A "strong" password policy has been instituted for Online Services users to provide added protection to account and credit card data. ALL new passwords must be alpha-numeric, 7 to 15 characters in length, contain at least 1 letter and 1 number and have NO SPACES. Special characters (e.g. @,#,$,%,&) are allowed. Passwords are case sensitive. They should be something that can be readily remembered, but not easily guessed. In addition, there is a password expiration policy of 90 days.

How often can I change my password?

You can change your password as often as you like. It is a good idea to change your password every few months to keep the information in your account secure.

How can I retrieve my password On-line?

If you've forgotten your password, you can retrieve it by going to the login page and supplying the system with your username. This will prompt you to enter the answer to the question that you supplied during your account registration. Once the answer is confirmed, you will be given your password. It is recommended that you change your password after you retrieve it for account security purposes.
